Dick Skidmore
Here Dick is explaining what happened during Morgan's Raid

Raised in Speedway, a graduate of Indiana State University, and retired from IBM, Dick Skidmore now lives with his wife, Wilda, in Hanover. He is a former president of this round table, and three others over the years. He has published two Civil War books and has written several items on Indiana soldiers in the Civil War, including the "Civil War" entry in The Encyclopedia of Indianapolis. Dick successfully coordinated the restoration of 160 military oil portraits at the Indiana Veterans' Home. Also, he coordinated implementing the John Hunt Morgan Heritage Trail in southern Indiana. For this effort he recently received the Jefferson Davis Historical Gold Medal Certificate from the United Daughters of the Confederacy (A rare honor for a Yankee). In 1996, he was named a Hoosier Historian by the Indiana Historical Society.
